New Ranger boat

Yes, its official, I am a proud owner of a Ranger Boat.
The boat is a 619 with a 225 e-tech h.o..
Boy is it a sweet ride.
Saturday, 2 people 53.5 mph.
Sunday, 2 people full gas, closed windshield, 55.4 mph.
Sunday, coming back, 2 people, windshield open, full livewell, 55.3 mph.
I can't wait till she is all broken in to see what kind of speed she has.
Those speeds are with the 4 blade prop that came on it also.

I didn't think the e-tech took any break in time and was pretty much maintenance free.

Even though e-tech says that, it still takes time for the outboard engine to settle in. My friend that I fish with a lot has one. After he had it out about 8 times he told me it is really settling in and is running better than ever.
I think what they mean when they say "no break-in needed" is that it will not hurt it to just go out and run it wide open right away unlike other outboards. My friend found out after a few weeks of running it on his fishing trips everything seemed to just get better with preformance. Has had his now for a little over two years and is loving it.
Good luck with yours Tom!!

As far as break in goes, I know the motor uses double the amount of oil at first, and then the computer knows when and how much to loean it back.
On friday I used a gallon of oil for about 12 gallons of gas.
On Saturday I used about 1/2 gallon of oil.
On Sunday I probably used a 1/3 gallon of oil.
At 5500 rpms on saturday I got 53.5 mph, and the gas tank wasn't full.
On Sunday I got 55.4 mph with a full gas tank and window closed. On the way back in I had window open, but the livewell was full, going into the wind and waves, 55.3 mph.
In 1 day I gained 2 mph, and I didn't have her trimed all the way up either.
There is no doubt in my mind that if I play with the prop, and jack plate, I will see over 60 mph.
Fun!!!
