Kinzua Outdoors- Northern Teir Inc Championship Results
This past weekend Kinzua Outdoors - Northern Teir Inc held their 8th Annual Walleye Championships on the Kinzua Reservoir. Anglers faced many challenges over the two days with ever changing weather conditions, a really tuff bite do to an abundance of bait fish, and falling water levels adding to the mix, this event was sure to make the cream rise to the top while testing all the skills of these worthy teams.
On Saturday, basket after basket of 1 fish came to the scales, but at the end of the first day we had two teams with over 8 pound baskets heading into the second day. Leading after day 1 was the team of Al Lockwood & Frank Reilly with 8.08 pounds, followed closely by DeWayne Cawley & Steve Colley with 8.03 pounds, and sitting in third place with the last limit of fish for the day was Mike Maholic & Brock Haven with 5.96 pounds.

Kevin & Phil Hind - 4 fish - 5.52 pounds 5. Doug Yohe - Rodger Rhoades - 4 fish - 5.07 pounds 6. Richard Demattis - Jim Simmons - 3 fish - 4.45 pounds 7. Chuck Sabatose - John Pendleton - 3 fish - 4.27 pounds 8. Bob & Nancy Stewart - 2 fish - 3.63 pounds 9. Cubby & Tracy Stewart 3 fish - 3.60 pounds 10. Rob & Mike Kemick - 3 fish - 3.54 pounds Big Fish - DeWayne Cawley & Steve Colley - 2.50 pounds
Sunday morning teams were anxious to get started with several teams shooting for over all awards for the season, as well as a fresh start for the second day of the championships, which is also a single day tournament for points and payouts. The weather forecast looked to be good all day, but in her usual fashion, mother nature showed up once again, producing light to heavy rains in the afternoon.
Teams started arriving to weigh in, and it appeared that teams did a swap from the day before with teams weighing better baskets than they did on Saturday.At the end of weigh ins it was clear who had made the right changes with the team of Don & Seth Hicks weighing a nice basket of eyes weighing 10.56 pounds. Rumors floated around of another team having a big fish, but after weighing the fish, the team of Chuck Sabatose & John Pendleton came up short weighing 8.61 pounds, along with the second biggest fish of the day.

Rob & Mike Kemick - 5 fish - 6.89 pounds 5. Al Lockwood - Frank Reilley - 4 fish - 5.90 pounds 6. Chad Yohe - Brandon Labrozzi - 4 fish - 5.34 pounds 7. Frank & Andy Mausser - 4 fish - 4.96 pounds 8. Lynn & Nate Smith - 3 fish - 3.91 pounds 9. Mike Yohe - Gary Massung - 2 fish - 2.11 pounds 10. Scott Hotteling - Mike Smith - 1 fish - 1.77 pounds Big Fish - Don & Seth Hicks - 3.79 pounds
After all the weights were tallied up, the top 5 over all 2010 championship winners were:
1. DeWayne Cawley & Steve Cawley - 10 fish - 15.23 pounds 2. Al Lockwood - Frank Reilly - 9 fish - 13.98 pounds 3. Chuck Sabatose & John Pendleton - 8 fish - 12.88 pounds 4. Don & Seth Hicks - 5 fish - 10.56 pounds 5. Rob & Mike Kemick - 8 fish - 10.43 pounds
Top Guardian / Youth for the event: Mike Maholic - Brock Haven
Top Husband Wife for the event: Cubby & Tracy Stewart
All team of the year awards were announced and $ awarded at the event, but all plaques are going to be presented at this years Awards banquet to be held in the end of January or beginning of February. This is an open banquet for any one wishing to attend. The date and more details will be announced shortly.
