Craven- I started to tie the tow rope to the stern, but Glenn corrected me. Grin Did'nt catch the feedbag on fire with my cigar- the motor almost did that for me!!!!! Smiley  Still hunting for the parts-hope to have it back and running before next weekend.

Glenn Boser- many thanx to you for towing us back to Willow Bay yesterday and many thanx to Randy Shine for loaning me a motor after mine took a dump yesterday.  These guys took time out of THEIR fishing time to help me out and it's greatly appreciated.  Evidently, I was doomed with motors yesterday, as I even had the loaner breakdown on me!!!   And also thanx to "Deadeye" for taking the 2nd motor to his shop and working on it for a couple hours.  You guys deserve a big SALUTE!!!!

I can handle the weather/elements, but the ENTIRE day Jen & I had was totally unbeleivable!!!!!  First, we got a alte start (omen?), then we checked a couple areas, found fish and started working them.  A half hour into it, Jen says "What's that funny smell?"  Then I notice a rather large amount of smoke eminating from under the motor bonnet!!!!   The engine then decides to sputter and quit.  I lift the hood to see and find a nice electronic voltage regulator had a complete thermo/nuclear meltdown!!!  It had melted plastic dripping down.  This also took the main fuse link with it (luckily).  While waiting for things to cool and inspecting it, we drifted with the 30 mph winds to another spot I wanted to try anyways. So, being the die hards we are, we strike up the trolling motrs and start fishing, hoping someone would come by.  We had 4 keepers each by the time a VERY welcomed sight came along-THANX A MILLION GLENN for the tow back to Willow!!!  I owe ya big time!!!  Then, back at the docks, a gracious Randy offers the use of his motor.  So we drive back to town, take my engine off, take his off his boat and put on mine.  Drive back over and launch.  Get back up to where we had found fish and start right where we had left off 3 hrs previous.  The fish were still there and willing-4 more keepers (kept 2 for dinner, rest released).  Big storm blowing up-better get back- now THIS motor won't start!!!!  Owner happens to come along and climbs aboard, jury rigs the choke system and gets it running about 50%.  We limp back as the "Perfect Storm" hits us full blast bringing honest 3 footers and horizontal winds.  It was just a perfect day.  So, unfortunatly, we are out of today's tourny and possibly next weeks St Jude's tourny unless I can get the parts expressed to me in time so I can fix my motor.   So, how'd everyone else do? Angry

Congrats on your Milestone!!!!   It's a well organized & fun event- you guys put a lot of work into it and it shows-just by growing each and every event.  Keep up the good work!!!   Maybe I'll be in the next one-IF I don't blow another engine!!!

I had to work, so I could'nt take anyone.  But I talked to a couple buddies that went.  One had 3 different birds going at once!!!   They ended up taking a decent 7 inch X 3/4 spur bird.  Kid's proud as a peacock!!!   The other had one bird but was henned up and got no shot, but his kid is fired up and hooked now-he can't wait to get out again!!!
